Celebrate the founding of America through ballet
Celebrate the founding of America through ballet
In honor of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America, Kansas City Ballet presents three stunning ballet works that celebrate America; George Balanchine's Stars and Stripes, Agnes de Mille's Rodeo and a world premiere by Caili Quan! Witness three artistic visions which chart the country's culture, art and legacy.
Stars and Stripes, George Balanchine's 1958 tribute to John Philip Sousa's spirited marches, is the ultimate celebration of American pride, set to beautifully triumphant music. Agnes de Mille's Rodeo pays homage to the American West, while the ever boundary pushing Cailin Quan's world premiere is set to be another treat for the eyes and ears. Happy Birthday USA!
