Kansas City Symphony - Pictures at an Exhibition

Kansas City Symphony - Pictures at an Exhibition at Helzberg Hall

Why see Kansas City Symphony - Pictures at an Exhibition?

Closing the season!

An elevated work that thrills and delights in equal measures; it is first Musorgsky then Ravel we have to thank for Pictures at an Exhibition, one of the symphonic repertories most vibrant and transporting. We're given an aural tour of the paintings of Victor Hartmann, sweeping us from the contemplative quiet of a ballet lesson, to the catacombs of Paris before setting us down in the glory of Kiev's monumental arch celebrating Tsar Alexander II.

Closing the season, Kansas City Symphony perform this masterpiece over three evenings, featuring the talents of pianist Benjamin Grosvenor on the former and recitals of John Corigliano's Snapshot Circa 1901 and Brahms' First Symphony.
