BREATHTAKING PERFORMANCE!

Stunning Ice skating, acrobatics, silks, trapeze, music, singing and costuming combined together to bring a truly memorable and world class performance. A must see! We thoroughly enjoyed watching Cirque du Soleil, Axel. The pupeteering was also amazing and truly unique.

What a wonderful fusion of music skating and acrobatics. World class performers make this a memorable art form.

ONE OF A KIND SHOW!

I don't know where all the bad reviews come from!? They must not get it. It was an amazing one of a kind show. So much talent from so many dedicated artists. Well worth the money. Can't wait to see another show from the Cirque du Soleil family. Great job y'all đź‘Ź

AMAZING

I can't see why there are any bad reviews? An amazing one of a kind show. Way, way worth the money. Very unique and special. Amazing artistry from so many people. Can't say enough about it's awesomeness! Gotta see this!

SPECTACULAR

I have seen a number of Cirque shows over the years but this one was hands down the best event I have witnessed, The variety of what was going on in the sky and on ice was amazing. This was way beyond a normal Ice show and could be thoroughly enjoyed by the non ice crowd. Lighting, music, acrobatics, juggling all spectacular. Well done Cirque. Just awesome!

AXEL

It was difficult figuring out the story line. There should have been a narrator in the beginning to give the audience a hint of the story line. You were pretty much left to figure out who was who and what the story was. You knew there was a bad guy and a good guy but really nothing else.

WORTH THE WATCH

Been to many cirque shows. Great show. A few of the acts were the best I’ve seen out of the 4 other shows (O, Mystre, Love, and Volta). If your reading reviews before show. Please go in with an open mind. If your close minded, I don’t think any cirque or theater art is for you. Don’t under stand all the bad reviews. All cirques story lines are creative. But they also leave room for your imagination to take over. As for the acrobats and ice skating.... Olympic quality if not better. Only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5, was because some of acts where out dated for the newest show out there. But still a great performance and beautiful cast.

MEH

This is the 4th Cirque show we have seen in 2yrs and I am usually just in awe and we have driven from Minneapolis to Chicago to see things. This time we drove to Milwaukee and I didn’t hate the show but I didn’t feel like the show was up to the caliber we usually see. The music was good but it felt very flat and low energy. I liked the energy of the Jump number and wouldve like to see more of that. Crystal was very good. This one wasn’t a wow for me, the least favorite of the ones I have seen

SO HARD TO WATCH....

This show made no sense. I don’t know why there was a martial arts guy in the middle of the show. This part made no sense at all. Many skaters fell. The “light” they were supposedly stealing kept flickering and going out. The show stopped for technical difficulties. I am a huge fan of Cirque but this was a huge flop. I also paid extra for seats close to the floor but with the light boxes and angles, I wasted my money. We moved 10 rows higher up and the seats were much better. This performance really looked like.some sort of dress rehearsal. Can’t believe I wasters $200.

CIRQUE DU SOLEIL, MELT THE ICE, YOU'RE JUST NOT MEANT TO SKATE

Great music and light show, but I felt like I was watching a kids figure skating show. Acrobatics were practically non existant. They started off the show with a 20 minute skating dance with a choagraphy that lacked inspiration. It was then followed by at 15 minute diablo act where the performer has either never done it before or drank heavily before the show. Oh an then a martial artist joins the circus and starts play fighting with himself. It really felt like half the performers quite or called in sick and the lighting crew had to step in. Couteless mistake were made in this show. The clown, in this case a human controlled dog robot, was probably the worst part of this disaster. The show had a few nice moments but in all, it missed the mark.

NOT MY THING

This was a bizarre and mediocre ice show. I would have preferred a more classic set of acrobatics. I understood that it was on ice, but simply thought it would be more typical of the other Cirque shows I've seen. Costumes were garish and very "futuristic," a la The Jetsons and there was an odd robotic dog, controlled by a human that they tried to incorporate into the show. None of it made any sense and I'm really sorry I paid 80+ dollars for each of our seats. I won't give it one star, since there was clearly "some" talent, but I hope Cirque never makes another show like this.

BAD SHOW, GREAT ATHLETES AND MUSIC

I tried to go into this show with an open mind because I thought Crystal was incredible. Needless to say, this was not my favorite Cirque show by any means, and I've been to quite a few and go every year. The storyline made no sense to me even after reading what it was supposed to be during intermission and none of the acts really flowed together. It was already going to be so hard holding a candle to Crystal but this show really fell flat and wasn't exciting or magical. However, the singing was lovely and I still applaud the athleticism of everyone in the show.

SO DISAPPOINTED

This is the 4th Cirque show we have been to and this one was really terrible! Not at the amazing level of the other shows. Just did not make sense, bad bad bad. So disappointed expensive The overall story was so weak and random stuff was going on. The skating was only so so. Such limited acrobatics just sad.

NOT UP TO PAR

So this is my third Cirque show and it was not up to par with the others. The theme was impossible to follow if there even was one. The Karate act in the middle with one person in the middle just didn’t make sense. I do want to say I thought the performers were quite talented I just don’t think the production had any value. It wasn’t planned well. I respect the talent of the performers and do not want to sound like I don’t but the whole thing just felt thrown together. It’s like you kept hoping it would get better and it did slightly toward the end but there was never a moment I felt like, Oh My God. And that is something I have felt at the two previous shows I have attended. I appreciate the work these people obviously have put in but I blame the producers of the show. It was just sub par. Best way I can describe it.

WEIRD MISH-MASH

This show is what would happen if Cirque du Soleil and the Ice Capades had a baby, then the baby grew up, learned to play guitar and did a lot of hallucinogens. Also, the baby has a very off-putting pet robot dog. Not entirely sure what I saw last night but I’m pretty sure I wasn’t laughing at the right parts.

TECHNICAL PROBLEMS W/ LIGHTING RUINED IT

After spending $600 for tickets for our family the show was very disappointing The performance was delayed for 20 minutes because of technical problems. When it finally started it became obvious that the problem was w/ the overhead lighting which had not been corrected. As a result floor lights were used & blinded the audience to the point that most of the acts in the first half could not be seen. After an extended intermission the problem w/ the overhead lighting had been solved & the second half was better but lacked the talent one expected based on previous Cirque Du Soleil programs we had attended. We emailed the venue (Columbus, GA Civic Center) who promptly replied, apologized, stated that the lighting was provided by CDS, advised us that they would pass our comments to CDS & offered us complimentary tickets to a future hockey game. We had also emailed CDS at the same time we contacted the venue. It has now been 11 days & we have heard nothing.

AWFUL!

This show had absolutely NO TALENT. If you have ever been to a REAL Cirque Du Soleil show, you’ll be absolutely disappointed after watching AXEL. There is nothing entertaining about it. It’s child’s play.

THEY SHOULD RENAME IT "HOT GARBAGE ON ICE"

This show was a disjointed mess, and absolute disaster. Not one single scene seemed at all related to any other scene. The lead female protagonist fell multiple times while skating, as did the wierd tight pants guy with the lightning shirt. The asian martial arts seemed extremely stereotypical and was completely out of place. They had to stop the show in the second act due to "technical difficulties". Finally, the puppet dog was utterly bizarre that it was just awkward. The lead antagonist was some sort of whimsical Donald Trump character which I thought was poor taste, and apparently his henchmen were extras from G.I. Joe. It was a light crowd anyway, and LOTS of folks left at intermission because it was such a colossal bomb. All that said, the musical performances were okay and the band sounded amazing.

UNFORTUNATELY DISAPPOINTING

Just saw the show 11/3/19, was not what I was expecting, and I am familiar with Cirque du Soleil quality. There was unfortunately no continuity and seemed at times a loss of structure. Not as exciting as it was billed to be.

I WOULDN’T EVEN CALL THIS A SHOW

I am completely baffled by Cirque du Soleil we put their name on this I’ve been to many Cirque du Soleil shows an always been very impressed we left right before intermission and I feel like it was The biggest waste of one hour of my life that I’ll never get back! We were not the only ones leaving people were leaving in huge groups. I would’ve preferred to sit with my 16-year-old through any child’s show rather than sit through this for one more minute. No talent, no story. I’ve seen fourth and fifth graders put on a better show than this.

EPICALLY STUPID AND AWFUL

I’ve seen several Cirque du Soleil shows and loved all of them except Axel. It was incredibly stupid, disorganized and made no sense. I could have handled the lack of plot had it been visually interesting, but it was boring and completely underwhelming. The “robot” dog (could have been a large cat, I couldn’t tell) was operated by a person whose legs functioned as the creatures hind legs, but it ended up looking like the human was, well, performing inappropriate acts with the robot animal. I was going to leave at intermission, but the show was stopped due to technical difficulties so I took the opportunity to leave then.

CONTINUOUS SENSORIAL AGGRESSION

This was quite an abomination, I left after 45 min. Way too loud, with constant overamplified industrial noises. Flashes of light that will leave a spot in your retina. While some of the performances were good, you can hardly concentrate on them because there's so much motion & color on the ice, it's like trying to concentrate on them with a kaleidoscope in the background. Others just dragged too long. Music is just electric guitar & synthesizer, with songs that sound like every other song out there.

CONFUSED AND ULTIMATELY BORED...

Very disappointed since I saw the first ice show from Cirque and loved it. I know that their storyliness tend to be vague but this show was utterly confusing. Choppy and disjointed with an incredible set design. At one point they had a martial arts performance that made no sense. Most of all was the music...totally flat except for one or two scenes. Not worth seeing and it makes me sad to say that.

1.0 star rating Susan from Montreal, Quebec

THIS WAS AWFUL

I went to Axel, because my daughter and I saw Crystal (Cirque's first show on ice) and loved it. This couldn't be further from that. It's like it's not even a Cirque show. Bad singing, mediocre skating and acrobatics. It was truly painful to watch. We left at the intermission.

AXEL SHOULD BE AXED

In short, an incoherent mess. The skating wasn’t up to par for a professional icecapade show, and wasn’t as good as other CDS shows, which I’ve seen as big productions in Vegas, and smaller traveling productions. It was loud and disjointed. We left during intermission and I will never go to another ice performance by CDS again. Stick with what works!

SO DISAPPOINTED..

I watched a 'toruk' before. That show was the best show I've ever seen. I expected to see that level on this show, but that was my mistake. It seemed like all the dancers needed more practice.. every single of them danced differently. Singer's throat was in bad condition. stage was smaller than I thought.

SOO BAD

Worst cirque du soleil show ever!! This was figure skating and bad music!!

1.0 star rating Tat Sra from Montreal, Quebec

UNPREPARED SHOW

No show, no skating, loud music, good acrobats, horrible female skater, good pair skaters, exceptional lightning, and the most disappointing of all, no pamphlet to indicated who is responsible for such a disaster! Or what it is all about. Or the names of the people trying to do the show. And to ask 120$ per ticket for such a garbage? But stupid was who paid it, not who asked for it.

WASTE OF MONEY

Was very excited for show. I have been to 3 other cirque du soleil shows. Highly disappointed and left at intermission.

CIRQUE DU SOLEIL JUNIOR VARSITY

Wow, this was bad. Having seen shows in Vegas and last years Crystal Ice show we were expecting quality. Poor on all levels, music, plot, skating, acrobatics. No excitement. Everything they did had been done better on America’s’ Got Talent. I feel like I as robbed.

CIRQUE DU SOLEIL: AXEL

This show is a disgrace. I spent $464.37 to take my parents and daughter to what was described as amazing in the advertisements, but it was the opposite in every way. I am feeling "duped" and "ripped off" to say the least. If this were a meal, I would have spit it out. At this point I am trying to contact a live person to discuss the experience, but that has also been impossible. The choreography was so mundane, the talent of the "skaters" compared to people in a park on a Saturday afternoon. The story line was disconnected, and my daughter went on line to figure out what it was! The lighting was off target. The one performer that was an acrobat with a white scarf was the highlight near the END of the show, and more then half the audience had already left! The "dog" character was obscene with the skater looking like he was having sex with the creature. The musicians showed talent, but must have been wondering why the show didn't follow the music! It was horrible. Where is my money?

SUBSTANDARD FOR CIRQUE DU SOLEIL

Do not waste your time or money.

1.0 star rating Nidaa Jbara from Tulsa, Oklahoma

WORST SHOW EVER

I watched Axel show today and I have never been disappointed as much as of today. The whole show is a waste of time and money. It is much less than watching a group of kids playing on a small ice rink in a very small town. I even doubted that the cirque crew are really representing Cirque Du Soleil, they were heavy in their movements and just repeating themselves in a very boring manner. Very silly and disappointing.

GO BACK TO THE DRAWING TABLE

out of place-rap song at the end? After reading the plot online I still dont get it. Let me mention-I don’t blame the performers at all! This is 100% on management and the people running the show. Go back to the drawing board. There are plenty of great stories out there- this is not one of them.

CIRQUE DU SO BAD

Like an expensive bad dream. I tried to stick a fork in my eye during the show to improve the experience. Freaky dog became uncool after 30 seconds. Stop taking people’s money. Ruining your brand. Melt the ice. Put the freaky dog down. And give me my money back!!!

1.0 star rating Todd from Nashville TN from Nashville, Tennessee

WHY CIRQUE WHY?!!

I am true Cirque fan. I have never seen a bad show or even mediocre show until, that is, tonight. The show is so bad it literally hurts the brand. The show is boring, weird, and so disjointed. The acrobatics are no where near the cirque standard. Nashville deserves better! Bring your A shows and not this mediocre hot mess. Music city deserves Better. I am disappointed and some what heart broken, I love cirque and this one made me sad. Do better! I still love you though, just not this one.
