NOT UP TO PAR

So this is my third Cirque show and it was not up to par with the others. The theme was impossible to follow if there even was one. The Karate act in the middle with one person in the middle just didn’t make sense. I do want to say I thought the performers were quite talented I just don’t think the production had any value. It wasn’t planned well. I respect the talent of the performers and do not want to sound like I don’t but the whole thing just felt thrown together. It’s like you kept hoping it would get better and it did slightly toward the end but there was never a moment I felt like, Oh My God. And that is something I have felt at the two previous shows I have attended. I appreciate the work these people obviously have put in but I blame the producers of the show. It was just sub par. Best way I can describe it.

WEIRD MISH-MASH

This show is what would happen if Cirque du Soleil and the Ice Capades had a baby, then the baby grew up, learned to play guitar and did a lot of hallucinogens. Also, the baby has a very off-putting pet robot dog. Not entirely sure what I saw last night but I’m pretty sure I wasn’t laughing at the right parts.

TECHNICAL PROBLEMS W/ LIGHTING RUINED IT

After spending $600 for tickets for our family the show was very disappointing The performance was delayed for 20 minutes because of technical problems. When it finally started it became obvious that the problem was w/ the overhead lighting which had not been corrected. As a result floor lights were used & blinded the audience to the point that most of the acts in the first half could not be seen. After an extended intermission the problem w/ the overhead lighting had been solved & the second half was better but lacked the talent one expected based on previous Cirque Du Soleil programs we had attended. We emailed the venue (Columbus, GA Civic Center) who promptly replied, apologized, stated that the lighting was provided by CDS, advised us that they would pass our comments to CDS & offered us complimentary tickets to a future hockey game. We had also emailed CDS at the same time we contacted the venue. It has now been 11 days & we have heard nothing.

AWFUL!

This show had absolutely NO TALENT. If you have ever been to a REAL Cirque Du Soleil show, you’ll be absolutely disappointed after watching AXEL. There is nothing entertaining about it. It’s child’s play.

THEY SHOULD RENAME IT "HOT GARBAGE ON ICE"

This show was a disjointed mess, and absolute disaster. Not one single scene seemed at all related to any other scene. The lead female protagonist fell multiple times while skating, as did the wierd tight pants guy with the lightning shirt. The asian martial arts seemed extremely stereotypical and was completely out of place. They had to stop the show in the second act due to "technical difficulties". Finally, the puppet dog was utterly bizarre that it was just awkward. The lead antagonist was some sort of whimsical Donald Trump character which I thought was poor taste, and apparently his henchmen were extras from G.I. Joe. It was a light crowd anyway, and LOTS of folks left at intermission because it was such a colossal bomb. All that said, the musical performances were okay and the band sounded amazing.

UNFORTUNATELY DISAPPOINTING

Just saw the show 11/3/19, was not what I was expecting, and I am familiar with Cirque du Soleil quality. There was unfortunately no continuity and seemed at times a loss of structure. Not as exciting as it was billed to be.

I WOULDN’T EVEN CALL THIS A SHOW

I am completely baffled by Cirque du Soleil we put their name on this I’ve been to many Cirque du Soleil shows an always been very impressed we left right before intermission and I feel like it was The biggest waste of one hour of my life that I’ll never get back! We were not the only ones leaving people were leaving in huge groups. I would’ve preferred to sit with my 16-year-old through any child’s show rather than sit through this for one more minute. No talent, no story. I’ve seen fourth and fifth graders put on a better show than this.
